During her tenure at HES, first as deputy director and, more recently, as Interim Executive Director, she has strengthened the organization. She created a strategic operating plan, worked with the team on the HES Advantage, and directed a new fund development plan. The organization has advanced the health equity agenda, expanding HUSKY access for immigrant children, increasing access to oral health, relaunching Connecticut’s Path to Health Equity, and more. Before joining Health Equity Solutions, Ayesha was vice president of operations at COMPASS Youth Collaborative, regional field organizer for a Congressional campaign, and a researcher at University of Connecticut School of Social Work, where she currently teaches in an adjunct capacity. She held elected office herself as a member of Hartford’s Board of Education, which she chaired from 2017-2021. Ayesha holds two master’s degrees, one in social work with a policy practice concentration from the University of Connecticut, and one in public health from Benedictine University. Her bachelor’s degree in economics was earned at UConn. |
