Dear  Friend,

The 2021 legislative session is off to a fast-paced start! Health Equity Solutions is motivated and ready to work with you to advance health equity in Connecticut. See our testimony here.
Here are our key priorities for action & where they currently stand:
  • Doulas: A hearing is likely to be scheduled soon. For updates, please follow the Doulas for Connecticut here.
  • REL Data:  HB6424, a bill standardizing REL data in the Health Information Exchange was introduced last week. HES will ask to amend the bill to standardize data collection across state agencies. The factsheet can be found here. Look out for updates soon!
  • HUSKY A: We will ask that eligibility increases be included in the state budget. Join us and testify to the Appropriations Committee on March 3. Look out for details soon, including talking points and how to sign up.
  • Racism as a PH crisis and Health Equity in All Policies: Details were recently highlighted by the Connecticut Mirror. Look out for more on how to take action from us as soon as a hearing is scheduled.
What is next? How to get involved!
  • Save the date: The week of April 4-10 is Health Equity Week. Stay tuned for event details!
  • Talk to your local officials about declaring racism a public health crisis; more at  hesct.org/advocacy
  • Stay up to date on HES advocacy actions  here. To sign up for HES action alerts and communications text HES to 72572 (standard messaging and data rates may apply)
  • Follow us on social media! (social media platforms are below!)

If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out.
